The Goodwood Revival 2017 took place over the weekend of the 8th/9th/10th of September for three days of vintage racing and nostalgia from the 40’s 50’s and 60’s. This years revival was a mix of rain and sunshine but this didn’t stop the crowds enjoying the halcyon days of motor racing.Members of the MVT were again running a taxi service for those arriving by private aircraft of helicopter onto the Goodwood airfield. The operation was run by the South Hant’s MVT Group’s Dan Major, with help from Paul Edwards, Chris Harris and many other’s including members from Dorset and West Sussex.The Freddie March Spirit of Aviation for pre 1966 aircraft presented a superb display of classic aircraft, highlighting Goodwood’s aviation heritage. Lot 205 in this years Bonhams auction was a Ford GPW built in June 1942. The vehicle sold for £17250 including premium, a more realistic price than the one that sold for just over £33,000 a few years ago The Goodwood Revival 2017 provided a fascinating of variety of nostalgia, historic racing cars, motorcycles, classic aircraft, military vehicles, the revival high street, with most visitors dressing in period cloths or wartime uniforms it was a superb weekend. Somewhat muddy and wet in places, but people had a great time.
